911: First Responders

It has been a while since my last ‘Game Review’ so what better time to do it than now (since I do have some free time!)

911: First Responders

With this game you are at control acting as different ’911′ Services including, Fire, Police, Ambulance, Bomb Squad and more!

The object of the game?

Well this is actually very simple, all you need to do is use your emergency services vehicles to respond to an event that has taken police, you never know what it will be or when it will happen which makes it more fun so at one point you can be dealing with an armed robber to a major fire!

The game is also great because you can use it on Multiplayer on the Internet or through LAN (so suitable if you use Hamachi (will be reviewed later))

The great thing about the game is that its easy to use, the graphics are also good (ok not as good as all the up – to – date games but are still great!

The downside I find however if for Multi-Player you can only have a max. of 4 players and no more but at times 4 players is enough.

When playing Multi-Player it is very important to communicate with each other at a incident.  When I play on Multi-Player I always find it better as well if one person takes responsibility for one emergency service.

I would rate the game 7/10 mainly due to the graphics and restriction on amount of people you can have in Multi-Player.

MSC Magnifica – Review Day 2 and 3

MSC Magnifica Day 3 – 27th Feb.

Well its the second day on board the lovely MSC Magnifica and our first and only full day onboard the ship.

We got up at 7am to catch the breakfast onboard the ship, and decided that we will have it in the L Edera Restaurant.  For this restaurant they had the breakfast as a menu style and the service was very fast.  I decided to have  Sausage, scrambled egg and bacon for mine which was nice and well cooked, they also offered fruit juice.

After this we went back to the room to have a shower and get ready for a day looking around the ship and what it had to offer.

To start off we went up to the top of the ship to have a go on the 4D Cinema to see what this was like, but at that time it was closed guess we were ab it early at going up!

We then took a walk around the ship but with that being at the back of the ship we decided to get the lift from the 4D Cinema which is also where the cinema is down to deck 6 where the bars are, but as we got to deck 6 we found we were trapped by doors that were locked (this was the back of the restaurant ops..) so we went back up some floors and walked to the middle of the ship where we were able to get around, we took a nice walk around this area and found the Sports Bar on the ship which also has a pool table  but with this pool table its no normal pool table, it is a table which can move itself so if the ship is moving it will move to keep the ball’s on the table where they are so you can still enjoy a good game even if the sea is a bit rough (not that we got to see this in action with the ship not going anywhere)

After this we then decided to take a walk back up to the 4D cinema, where we found it was just starting to open!  There was a few people already seated infront of us and about 3 people waiting to go in (only 8 seats in the cinema) when we got the chance to go in it was great we were seated on to the special seats and given the 3D glasses, and then it started, I found this such a great experience the seats moved, there was very strong fans and the 3D was very good as well.

After doingt his we still had quite a bit of time to spend until we had to go for a presentation by MSC Cruises at 15:30 so had a further walk around the ship and looking at other areas on the ship.

Because it was going to be a long while until dinner (21:15) I decided I would end up having dinner at 13:00  and went to the Sahara Restaurant which was in a buffet style.

After this I had another wonder around the ship as well as having sit at one of the many bars on the ship before we went for a presentation by MSC Cruises at 15:30.

One of the interesting parts of the presentation was that a couple who were on board MSC Magnifica were invited to come along for a big surprise, they have been on 50 cruises with MSC!  They were very surprised to get the award of ‘Black’ membership with MSC the first people to do so, ever!

After this I still had a while go to before the Cocktail party of the night so took another walk up to the 4D cinema to take a second ride!

After this I headed back down to the Tiger Bar and had a (few) drinks with some friends from work before going back up to the cabin to get ready for the evening ahead!

I came back down for the Cocktail reception at 19:00 where I had (more) drinks before heading into the Theatre at 20:15 for the pre-dinner show which lasted 45mins and give us a sample of what the ship had to offer for the entertainment, you can see one part of the show below!

After this we still had about 30mins to wait before dinner so yes back to sit a the bar for a short while before we could get into the restaurant.  I found that the dinner the second night was much better then the first nights dinner altho service still seemed a big slow at times and the waiters also at first rushed you for an order.

After dinner, I headed to one of the bar’s (yes a bar, again!) where I saw a few other friends so we had a few drinks and a shot (well the shot was a shot but more bigger in a drinks glass!)

We then headed up to the casino to had a go at this and spend our FREE €500 voucher!  I didn’t have a go at this but gave it to some friends!  The casino did look very nice!

After having a go at the casino it was after 01:00 so decided to head up to the disco on the ship to spend a little while there to party the night away… little did I know or think about I ended up being there until 04:30!!!!

The next day me and my friend were up at 06:00 to get our bags packed and then head down to leave the ship :( as we had to be off at 07:30 so did not get that much sleep after that at all!

I hope you enjoyed this report!

Windows 7

Well, Microsoft next month to bring out Windows 7 to the public, with 3 versions going to be available

  • Windows 7 Home
  • Windows 7 Professional
  • Windows 7 Ultimate

I have been running Windows 7 Ultimate through Microsoft TechNet to try out the operating system, of which I was previously using Microsoft Vista.

As soon as I installed Windows 7 onto my computer and installed the programs I needed including AVG Anti-Virus, I was ready to go.

I have found that Windows 7 runs allot better and faster than Vista used to on my computer and I near enough have all the same programs on the computer running which is great as is I had started to find the start up of Windows Vista just taking to long.

There is a number of great features I am finding that are now in Windows 7 of which other versions of Windows lacked.

One of the best features I have now found is an easy way to compare two windows at the same time by dragging one window to the left of your screen and the second window to the right of your screen, by doing this it will auto-size the two windows to make them easily comparable!

Another big feature of Windows 7 is the re-designed taskbar on your desktop, when you have more than one window of the same application open i.e. Firefox instead of two box’s for firefox being on your taskbar you will only have the one bar, and by clicking on the firefox logo, this will show your other open windows and allow you to select which window you wish to open,  I find this to be a great way to move between windows and less ‘clutter’ on your start menu.

To be honest I have not yet found any problems on Windows 7 at all and so far loving it.

One of the downsides I found with Windows 7 Ultimate is that it did not have Movie Maker installed, but this is easily down-loadable from Windows Live from where you can get the latest version, of which I will make a post about another day.
