iPhone still as popular now?

With so many new phones now out is the iPhone still as popular as it first came out?

In the UK recently a number of new phones have come out as a good ‘challange’ to Apple’s iPhone for a tough battle of the mobile phones.

With a demand by Mobile Phone users ever increasing for ease of use but also with feature packed mobile phones I think users are now wanting to have more options open to what they would like from there mobile phones.

This also seems to be coming about with an ever increase in the Smart Phone market from mobile phone makers such as Blackberry’s Storm 2 or even the Palm Pre both just launched within the last week.

A survey has also found that of 1,000 UK adults that 27% of O2 customers would go for the Palm Pre compared to the 17% wanting the  iPhone prior to its launch.

Mobile phones are getting better and better as time is going on with new features and also features always improving.

With the Smart Phone market getting bigger and bigger other mobile phone manufactures may just need to play catch up in an already competitive market and may just find it hard to catch up.

What will the future of mobile phones hold? Who knows

Nokia Ovi Suite

A few months ago now Nokia launched their Application Suite ‘Ovi’

This useful site will allow Nokia owners to download and install many applications and games onto their mobile phones.

Users can do this through the Ovi Suite which can be installed on there mobile phone or through the Ovi Suite website at : https://store.ovi.com/

The Suite will allow you to browse applications / games that are free, or can be purchased with some of them available as a trail.

When you use it through the mobiel version this will automaticly download the application / game onto your mobile phone and install it for you!

Ovi Suite has a ever grown list of applications and games and you can also read reviews from other application users before you download allowing you to decide it if will be worth having before you even download and install it!

I have used this my self and find it very easy to use and love the fact that when you find an application / game you like it will install it for you.

iPhone in the UK

Just a week or so ago, it was announced by Orange and Apple that they have joined up to provide the iPhone to UK users which will bring to an end the exclusivity to O2 who are currently the only provider in the UK for the iPhone.

This should be good for people looking for the iPhone and give a bigger choice from those who may not want to be with O2 just to get the iPhone.

The new deal is also said to be available through selected high street retailers and through Orange Shops.

Time will see how much Orange will charge for the services to have the iPhone.

Will post any further updates I see on this but for now Orange dont have any further information apart from registration for interest in the iPhone.

Nokia 5800

Back in February this year, I was looking for a new mobile to replace the Parada I had.

I wanted to get a phone that had a great phone and along with that a phone which also had a good number of usefull features.

It did take some time looking at the best one to get and the best contact to take out.

After some looking around on the internet and going into the local phone shop to have a ‘play’ with possible phones which I liked and to make a choice on which phone I would go for.

As the above title shows, I decided that I would go for the Nokia 5800 as found this to be the best phone avaiable at the time I was looking for a new phone to have and plus was not long out so this was also great!

Some of the best features I find on the phone are:

  • touch screen
  • 3.2 megapixel (I know its there are phones with beter pixels out there but wasnt the camara I was going for)
  • Built in Wi-Fi (loving that!)
  • Great videocamara for taking movies
  • 6GB micro-sd card (phone came with this)
  • Great for listening to music on
  • Use music as ringtones
  • Download and install applications using Nokia’s Application Site
  • Came with 3 games pre-installed, Guitar Rock Tour (a spin off from Guitar Hero for your mobile!), Bounce and RT GR (car racing game, move your phone to move the car!)

Another great feature is if your have your phone sound ‘enabled’ for incoming calls you can turn your phone  and this will mute the ringing of the phone! amazing!!

The phone is very lightweight, it is a big big in size, but for the features and size of the screen on the phone this more than make up for it.

I must admit that I do quite like touch screen phones and the Nokia 5800 is now my second touch screen I have owned, I am not sure yet what phone I would go for next year but guess I do still have plenty of time before I upgrade and looking out for new and upcoming phones and no doubt by February 2010 there will be quite a few new phones out and to pick from!

With the good quality camera the Nokia has I find it useful to have if I do ever need a camera and don’t happen to have my digital camera with me.

I can go for a week or two without charging the mobile phone if I don’t use it much which at times I don’t, sometimes I will use the mobile Internet if I am away from home and unable to use the Internet and even with using the Internet daily this still dose not have a large drainage on the mobile phone battery.

With the Nokia 5800 you can also watch movies that you have placed on your micro SD Card so this would come in handy if you are in a train on your way somewhere or even if you are on holiday and with the phone you get a cable so you can plug your phone into your TV and watch your movies / videos on it!

For those who travel allot the phone also has a built in Sat Nav this is additional service
