Turquoise Hotel – Show Time – This Is It

On the last night of my holiday at Turquoise Resort Hotel and Spa, this was what must of been the best show of my holiday!

This Is It a show which was tributed to Michael Jackson.

The show was so good with great dancing from the Animation Staff of the hotel, below you can see videos from the show.

I will also post soon, another great show The Lion King which was also done by the Animation Staff of the hotel.

At all of the shows I had seen durring my stay at the hotel, I could not fault any of the shows at all.

With this show, This Is It, it has great dancing by all of the Animation Staff of the hotel of which you can see in the videos on this post, the very last video, shows who the animation staff were at the hotel, so you will know to look out for them if you were to ever go to the hotel!

Turquoise Resort Hotel & Spa

Not that long ago I posted I had just come back from my holiday to Turkey and posted a video of the hotel Club Dance (http://www.rossmilne.net/?p=413)

Well I thought that I would just share a bit about the hotel it’s self now.

Turquoise Resort Hotel & Spa is a lovely hotel in Side / Sorgun built in a pine forest that goes right out to the sea and not that far away from Antalya Airport.

The hotel has a total number of 479 rooms, based on standard rooms, sea view rooms, villa and more!

One of the best things about the hotel is the swimming pools, it has a number of pools around the complex with one big main pool where some activities take place as well as that a pool with 3 slides!

There is also plenty to do for people of all ages of children (AND adults!) where the kids can take place in the Children’s Club’s and for the Adults / Teenagers the Animation Team also have plenty for you to do including, Darts, Archery, Water Polo and ALOT more and you will never be bored.

There is also a number of restruants for everyone to eat in includeing a couple of A-la-cart (4).

The entertainment, dose not just stop at durring the day, at night they put on a diffrent show each night to be sure to keep everyone entertained, of course this starts off with the mini disco then its onto the evening shows where you will see some great ones from Comedy Shows, The Lion King and This Is It and even more! (videos of some of these will be coming very soon!)

My thoughts on this hotel is that it is a perfect hotel for anyone to go to of all ages, even for single travelers out there, it will not take lont to meet new and great people.

The staff at the hotel are always very niec to chat to, and for that I find that great as they love to have a chat with out!

The rooms are very nice, I was in a single room myself and still found this to be very good and the size of the room was very good even for just the one person!

There is plenty of food at the hotel each night for you to have with a good choise as well to suit everyone!

This is a hotel I would love to go back to maybe next year as loved it so much, with it being a great hotel, with where it is, the staff and the quality you get.

I would highly recommend this holiday to anybody who is thinking of going to this part of Turkey.

MSC Magnifica – Review Day 2 and 3

MSC Magnifica Day 3 – 27th Feb.

Well its the second day on board the lovely MSC Magnifica and our first and only full day onboard the ship.

We got up at 7am to catch the breakfast onboard the ship, and decided that we will have it in the L Edera Restaurant.  For this restaurant they had the breakfast as a menu style and the service was very fast.  I decided to have  Sausage, scrambled egg and bacon for mine which was nice and well cooked, they also offered fruit juice.

After this we went back to the room to have a shower and get ready for a day looking around the ship and what it had to offer.

To start off we went up to the top of the ship to have a go on the 4D Cinema to see what this was like, but at that time it was closed guess we were ab it early at going up!

We then took a walk around the ship but with that being at the back of the ship we decided to get the lift from the 4D Cinema which is also where the cinema is down to deck 6 where the bars are, but as we got to deck 6 we found we were trapped by doors that were locked (this was the back of the restaurant ops..) so we went back up some floors and walked to the middle of the ship where we were able to get around, we took a nice walk around this area and found the Sports Bar on the ship which also has a pool table  but with this pool table its no normal pool table, it is a table which can move itself so if the ship is moving it will move to keep the ball’s on the table where they are so you can still enjoy a good game even if the sea is a bit rough (not that we got to see this in action with the ship not going anywhere)

After this we then decided to take a walk back up to the 4D cinema, where we found it was just starting to open!  There was a few people already seated infront of us and about 3 people waiting to go in (only 8 seats in the cinema) when we got the chance to go in it was great we were seated on to the special seats and given the 3D glasses, and then it started, I found this such a great experience the seats moved, there was very strong fans and the 3D was very good as well.

After doingt his we still had quite a bit of time to spend until we had to go for a presentation by MSC Cruises at 15:30 so had a further walk around the ship and looking at other areas on the ship.

Because it was going to be a long while until dinner (21:15) I decided I would end up having dinner at 13:00  and went to the Sahara Restaurant which was in a buffet style.

After this I had another wonder around the ship as well as having sit at one of the many bars on the ship before we went for a presentation by MSC Cruises at 15:30.

One of the interesting parts of the presentation was that a couple who were on board MSC Magnifica were invited to come along for a big surprise, they have been on 50 cruises with MSC!  They were very surprised to get the award of ‘Black’ membership with MSC the first people to do so, ever!

After this I still had a while go to before the Cocktail party of the night so took another walk up to the 4D cinema to take a second ride!

After this I headed back down to the Tiger Bar and had a (few) drinks with some friends from work before going back up to the cabin to get ready for the evening ahead!

I came back down for the Cocktail reception at 19:00 where I had (more) drinks before heading into the Theatre at 20:15 for the pre-dinner show which lasted 45mins and give us a sample of what the ship had to offer for the entertainment, you can see one part of the show below!

After this we still had about 30mins to wait before dinner so yes back to sit a the bar for a short while before we could get into the restaurant.  I found that the dinner the second night was much better then the first nights dinner altho service still seemed a big slow at times and the waiters also at first rushed you for an order.

After dinner, I headed to one of the bar’s (yes a bar, again!) where I saw a few other friends so we had a few drinks and a shot (well the shot was a shot but more bigger in a drinks glass!)

We then headed up to the casino to had a go at this and spend our FREE €500 voucher!  I didn’t have a go at this but gave it to some friends!  The casino did look very nice!

After having a go at the casino it was after 01:00 so decided to head up to the disco on the ship to spend a little while there to party the night away… little did I know or think about I ended up being there until 04:30!!!!

The next day me and my friend were up at 06:00 to get our bags packed and then head down to leave the ship :( as we had to be off at 07:30 so did not get that much sleep after that at all!

I hope you enjoyed this report!

MSC Magnifica Day 1 Review

MSC Magnifica Day 1 – The Arrival and Evening

The day started off in the late morning by heading off to work to catch the bus for going to Edinburgh Airport to head over to Southampton airport to catch the showcase cruise of MSC Magnifica, the bus left around 12pm with one more pick-up before heading to the Airport.

We spent about an hour and a half at Edinburgh Airport before catching our flight which ended up slightly delayed.

The flight it’s self only took around an hour which was not bad at all.

We then arrived at Southampton airport waiting for the bags which seemed to take forever and then got on to the coach and headed over to the dock’s to go onto the ship.

When we got around the bend and saw the ship, the very first impression I got was that she is such a lovely ship and very very well designed.

We then had to go into the Cruise Terminal to check-in for the cruise before we could board the ship, there was a very big que to check into the ship but then with allot of people there it was still not to bad but do think that they could of done with allot more staff to check everyone in.

After checking in which only took about 5 mins when we got to the desk we were then able to board the ship that is after we had to go through security.

After we got onto the ship we went straight to the room and even had a porter who showed us to the room and carried the case! (very nice touch!)

After dumping the bags, I then headed down to the Tiger Bar for a drink while waiting to go into the Theatre for a Awards Presentiation by my work, we then got into the theatre and at the door had my hand shook by the Managing Director of Sales for the company I work in!

We were in the theatre for about an hour and after that headed upt o the cabin (Cabin 12022) to get ready for the evening meal and cocktail reception.

The cabin we had was a inside cabin which was very large in size which I found very good!

After this we then headed down to the Topazio Bar for some pre-dinner drinks and cocktails and then it was onto the Restaurant ‘L Edera’ for our dinner and my table was 568.

After dinner we had time to head off for a night to our self, where I went to some of the bars for more drinks as well as onto the disco.

During the whole time of the visit onto MSC Magnifica all drinks were free including the mini-bar we had in the room, i took the time as well to get some nice pics of the top deck in the dark!

More pictures and Day 2 Review will be posted soon.
