With so many different sites now offering Online Backup to back-up your data are they really as secure as they say?

I still remain un-convinced on online backup services, although I do backup my data and highly recommend that you do as well I prefer to stick to my portable hard drive and also backup my data onto CD’s.

The main reason for this is because I know where they are and keep them safe where I can find them if I need them.

One major thing you will need to keep in mind with the Online Backup Services is if that service was to ever go down or even stop you pretty much will find it hard to get your data back if not impossible.

Most of these sites will be secure and stop people from getting access to your backed up data but what if someone manages to hack into your account and access your data?

There are so many if’s and but’s in online backup which is why I have not started backing up my data online and to be honest I doubt that I ever will.

I feel much better known that I have backed up my data my self and know where I have ‘stored’ the backup’s and if I ever need them I can get them quickly as well.
